BANGKOK, Nov 3 (Reporting ASEAN) – The Reporting ASEAN media forum has been moved to February 2017, after its organizers said it would be best to be considerate of the fact that the original December date would be quite close to the first birthday of Thai King Bhumibol Adulyadej after his death in October.Various events around the King’s birthday on Dec. 5, which is also a national holiday in Thailand, are
expected in the country at that time, the Reporting ASEAN program and its host organization, Probe Media Foundation Inc, said. The original conference dates were Dec. 3-4, 2016.
The new dates for the forum, a conference focusing on media and news around reporting on ASEAN issues and ASEAN integration, are Feb. 17-18, 2016. The conference will be followed by an editorial workshop on Feb. 18 for the journalist-fellows who are part of the Reporting ASEAN program.
The forum will still be held at The Courtyard by Marriott Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand. Participant registration forms are here or available online at http://bit.ly/reportingaseanmediaforum
The screening and selection of fellows for the Reporting ASEAN media fellowship program continues as scheduled, but they will instead be attending the forum in February 2017. Application and story proposal forms for the 2016 phase of the fellowship are at http://bit.ly/reportingaseanmediafellowship
